Tues Dec 5 @ 1:00 pm – Meet author Melanie Linn Gutowski under the Kaufmann’s clock for a look back at one of Pittsburgh’s favorite retail destinations. You’ll do some window shopping, eat at the Tic Toc, and then ride the escalator up to every kid’s favorite, Toyland.

Following the picture presentation, we’ll have our own version of Toyland on display for patrons to grab a Christmas present! Register Today!

Refreshments (and memories!) will be served.

Copies of the new Kaufmann’s Department Store history book will be available for sale by the author.

Bio:
Melanie Linn Gutowski is a writer and public historian. She is also the author of Pittsburgh’s Mansions, a pictorial history of Western Pennsylvania’s stately homes. Her history writing has appeared in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Pittsburgh Quarterly and the Victorian Society in America’s Nineteenth Century journal. Melanie is a three-time finalist for the Press Club of Western Pennsylvania’s Golden Quill Awards.
Melanie holds a Master’s degree in professional writing from Chatham University and a Bachelor of Arts in French and history of art & architecture from the University of Pittsburgh.
