April 22 @ 2:30 PM – Buzz into the library for a family-friendly program about honeybees!
Did you know that 75% of our country’s crops rely on bees and other natural pollinators? Yet native bee populations are struggling due to habitat disruption, monocultural and genetically engineered food provisions, and invasive pathogens and parasites.
Burgh Bees aims to introduce beekeeping to Pittsburghers in order to promote bees and beekeeping and in so doing, stewardship of the environment. Guests of all ages are welcome to attend and learn how to raise, keep, and protect honeybees – and sample some delicious honey while you’re at it!
“Bee” with us for this special Earth Day event! Registration recommended (but walk-ins welcome).
