How Did It All Begin?
Before there was a Whitehall Library, there was a Friends group. And it was their efforts that brought the library, itself, into being.

DONATE NOW!
Join us in celebrating our 50th Anniversary by contributing to the "$50,000 for the Fiftieth" campaign for the Friends of the Whitehall Public Library.
This two-year campaign began in February 2011 with a mailing to all households in the borough. It will continue through January 2013. The goal for each year is $25,000.
Our 2011 campaign has reached and slightly exceeded two landmarks: 500 donors and $20,000. The average donation as of early June 2011 is slightly over $40. If you have already contributed, thank you. You’ve helped us get very close to our goal.
There is still time to contribute. The campaign continues throughout the rest of the year.
Your contribution, in any amount, enrolls you as a member of the Friends. Donors who contribute $50 or more per year ($100 or more over the course of the two-year campaign) will become members of the Circle of Friends and will be formally recognized at the Library.
Donations of $250 or more will also be recognized with an engraved leaf on the Library's Giving Tree. Sponsorship levels are Bronze--$250, Silver--$500, and Gold--$1000.
Membership in the Friends is open to everyone, regardless of residency. The Friends are an active group that assists the library in a variety of ways including fund raising and advocacy. Each year funds raised by the Friends go toward sponsoring Adult and Children's programs - including summer reading. The Friends funds also pay for the LEARN bus, a unique program for the library that targets locally resettled refugee families and introduces them to the library.
