In this two-part class, we will cover all the basics of gardening with ornamentals––flowers, shrubs, trees, and more. The goal is to help you feel more confident in your ability to have a beautiful garden that you enjoy, and even look forward to tending.

April 10 Session 1 – Plants and Soil :
We will cover the options you have with respect to plant material, and how to select plants that will work well in your garden and suit your lifestyle. We will also talk about soil conditions and how they affect your ability to grow the plants you want, as well as the needs of plants with respect to light, moisture, and temperature. April 17 Session 2 – Common Mistakes : We will focus on common planting and maintenance mistakes that even more experienced gardeners sometimes make. As part of our conversation, we will explore gardening myths dispelled by recent science. For inspiration, we will also look at a few examples of gardens in our region. Register Here.
