Other Ways to Donate
STRAPPED FOR CASH, but still want to donate to the library?
Bring in your empty toner cartridges (printers / copiers / fax machines) and we’ll recycle them in exchange for much needed library supplies; like paper, pens and other office necessities.
Please bring them to the library’s front desk during regular operating hours.
The Whitehall Public Library will accept donations of used books, audio books, music CDs, DVDs, puzzles and games on a year round basis.
Items that are not retained for our collection may be sold as part of the Library Book Sale. Although we appreciate your gifts and will evaluate them carefully, material selection decisions are at the discretion of library staff only.
Please read the guidelines below BEFORE bringing your donations to the library. We will be happy to provide a signed and dated receipt for tax purposes; however the library is prohibited from placing a monetary value on any donated material.
We are unable to accept the following:
- VHS tapes
- Reader’s Digest Condensed books
- Most magazines, including National Geographic
- Books that have been stored in a basement or attic that may be very dirty or have a musty odor, or books that are very old or damaged in any way, including missing, torn or yellowed pages, dusty covers, or broken spines – items that are not in “good” condition.
As a courtesy to library staff we ask that you limit your donations to 3 bags or boxes at any one time. Please bring items to the library during regular operating hours only.
Thank you for supporting the Whitehall Public Library, we appreciate your donations!
