Interlibrary Loans

What is an Interlibrary Loan? If we can’t find your item at our library or any other Allegheny County library, we will search for your item outside of our system.

Before requesting a book through ILL, be sure to search for the item in all of the eiNetwork libraries. This can be done by selecting “All Libraries” from the drop down menu on the main catalog search page.

If it is available at any library in the eiNetwork consortium (any of the libraries available to you in the catalog) then it is not necessary to request the item ILL. Instead request the item by calling, or visiting your local library. Or you may request it directly through the catalog.

Through interlibrary loan, or ILL, you can receive materials from libraries all across the country.
